Like the phases of the moon, you’ll sometimes see different patterns here at Wax and Wane Studios. Some of these patterns are inspired by Nordic healing runes. They’re designed to represent and help you process various aspects of your life, such as setting boundaries, processing grief, serving compassion, and practicing patience, to name a few.
Each pattern will come with a mindfulness prompt for you to meditate on while making the quilt. By approaching the piece with this mindful and deep-dyed purpose, it’s my hope that you’ll allow your emotions to speak through your creativity.

The Maker behind Wax and Wane Studio
I’m a romantic utilitarian who is completely taken by the art of quilting. As a mom and business owner, I love that quilting allows me time to relax and reflect while still feeling productive, creative, and accomplished. But I thought it was a bit selfish to keep that to myself.
So I created Wax and Wane Studio to help new quilters get acquainted with this ancient art that’s been around for centuries. I want to encourage all quilters to embrace their creativity and adopt a unique and intimate approach to quilt patterns.
In short, I created Wax and Wane Studio for you. The quilter who’s looking for an outlet to see themselves in a raw and vulnerable form. By leading with your creativity and practicing an elevated state of mindfulness, I hope these quilts help you make an expression of yourself to be loved for generations.
