Dreaming Tote by Ben @benmillett
Hi, friends! This is the third in a series of posts I’ll be sharing to show off some fun and beautiful ways you can use the fabrics from my latest collection Dreaming now available at Hawthorne Supply Co.
This amazing tote was made by Ben @benmillett using a pattern of his own. He has a tote tutorial available in his shop.
Ben chose a fun and dramatic combination of blues and magentas paired with black and white for this project. The mix of fabrics is a perfect display of the hero and support patterns from the collection.
A Bit About Ben
Ben, based in Des Moines, IA, is a quilter, artist, and doctor of plant pathology. He offers digital patterns, templates, pantographs, stickers, and handmade items in his shop. As an advocate, he uses his talents to raise awareness for equality, inclusivity, individuality, and self-love within the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond. I especially love Ben’s lean toward curiosity and his thoughtful contributions to the quilting community as he shares what he learns.
I was introduced to Ben by my Quilt Buzz cohorts and I met him virtually during our podcast interview with him. I loved getting to know Ben and discovering his unique style. I’m so grateful he agreed to make something with my fabrics.
Dreaming Fabrics
For this project, Ben used Wax and Wane (in night), Wax and Wane (in fog), Morning Glories (in dark geranium), Dreamscape (in geranium), Sprinkle Geo (in leaf), Starry (in dark teal), and Phoebe Dot (in teal) all printed on Kona Cotton.
Dreaming
This tote made with fabric from my Dreaming collection is just one gorgeous example of how versatile the designs can be. Hawthorne Supply Co. offers my collection in over twelve substrates so the project possibilities are endless. Bags, quilts, clothing, accessories … whatever you can dream up.
The Dreaming fabric collection is available at Hawthorne Supply Co.
